A new Irish pub for the north of Freiburg
O'Donnells is the third Irish pub from Sarah Lambe and Kieran Mullen, the people behind O'Kellys and Oscar Wilde's in Freiburg's city centre. This time we are heading out of the centre: to the corner of Waldkircher Straße, right in the new Güterbahnhof quarter.
Smaller than O'Kellys, every bit as warm. A proper free house, so not tied to any brewery, with dark timber, gold Celtic knotwork on the ceiling and a bar you will feel at home at after your first visit.
Who was Johnny O'Donnell?
The pub carries the name of Sarah's uncle, an Achill Island man who made his life in Cork. His story is the reason this pub exists.

We pour what we choose. Irish classics on draught, craft beers from the region and a whiskey shelf worth a second look.
The Pub →The Güterbahnhof quarter
The old freight yard has become a lively new quarter of the city. We are the corner pub it was missing.

Until we open, you will find us in the city centre: O'Kellys for sport, quiz and pub food, Oscar Wilde's for whiskey and weekend brunch.
Sister Pubs →Where we are
Right at the Rennweg tram stop, on the corner of Waldkircher Straße. A few minutes by tram from the city centre, and a short walk from Zähringen and Herdern.
